Centrifugal casting of titanium
Advanced components for the marine, defence and pharmaceutical industries
GDA Sverige AB can now offer centrifugal casting of titanium for demanding environments and applications in the marine, defence and pharmaceutical industries.
We deliver high precision, extreme corrosion resistance and long life - a technological option that brings clear benefits to your systems.
Technology and materials:
Titanium is a material with excellent properties for demanding applications: high strength-to-weight ratio, very good corrosion resistance (especially to seawater and aggressive chemicals) and the possibility of complex shapes and thin walls. Titanium cast components are produced by centripetal/centrifugal casting and vacuum processes to ensure homogeneous metallurgy and top performance.
We offer advanced casting technologies and validated processes that include:
- Centrifugal/centripetal casting in titanium
- Sand and lost-wax / investment casting processes
- Vacuum heat treatment and HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing)
- Non-destructive testing (NDT: FPI, X-ray) and dimensional control (CMM, 3D scanning)
Through these processes, we ensure that each component fulfils high standards of structural integrity and durability.
Industry-specific benefits:
Marine & offshore
In marine environments, components face aggressive seawater conditions, high pressures and corrosive media. By using cast titanium components, you reduce corrosion maintenance, extend operating intervals and achieve a lower total lifecycle cost.
Marine systems that switch to titanium castings can significantly reduce life-cycle costs compared to duplex or resin-coated steels.
Examples of components: pump casing, valves, heat exchanger details, submersible systems, impellers.

Defence and aerospace industry
It requires materials that are both lightweight and extremely robust. Titanium offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent fatigue strength and corrosion resistance - ideal for critical structures and fluid-borne systems on board military platforms. Our casting process allows us to deliver fully approved components to defence industry requirements.

Pharmaceutical and medical device industry
Pharmaceutical process equipment requires hygienic materials, resistance to aggressive chemicals and minimal risk of corrosion and contamination. Cast titanium components are ideal for pump and valve housings, hygienic flow components and clean room environments, where both material selection and manufacturing traceability are important.
