Pressurised chambers for health care

At GDA we provide supply, installation and maintenance of pressure chambers and associated equipment. We supply customised pressure chamber systems for use in healthcare and the defence forces.

We work closely with our customers in the healthcare sector and provide pressure chambers and maintenance to, among others, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Karolinska Hospital, Helsingborg Hospital and Blekinge Hospital. HBOT - the main use of pressurised chambers in healthcare

As the use of pressurised chambers has expanded, the requirements for life-supporting medical equipment and patient monitoring have increased. The pressurised chamber provides treatment with a high concentration of oxygen to patients who receive their treatment under pressure. This places different demands on the design solutions for the equipment used in that environment. At GDA, we have completed several integrations of medical devices in pressurised chambers such as monitoring monitors, syringe pumps and ventilators for use in up to full working pressure. Read more about our medical device integration projects in pressurised chambers here.

HBOT is an acronym for Hyperbamedicinal Oxygen Therapy and is one of the most commonly used pressurised chamber-based treatments in healthcare. It involves the patient breathing in 100% of oxygen under elevated pressure in the pressurised chamber, which speeds up the healing of hard-to-heal wounds and tissues. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy also helps the white blood cells fight harmful bacteria and generates rapid blood vessel regeneration.

Pressurised chamber for research purposes

We manufacture customised pressure chambers for research in hyperbaric environments. We have full control over the entire process from drawing to finished product and can also CE-approve chambers up to 90 litres without additional costs for the accredited body. The product is easy to use and is maintained by the regular staff responsible for the pressure chamber and the medical technology department.

Stretcher for intensive care in pressure chamber

GDA develops solutions that increase patient safety and make life easier for medical staff. For example, we have developed a stretcher for intensive care in pressurised chambers and a water mist fire suppression system. You can read more about these customised systems for pressure chambers in our product sheets.

Treatment monitoring in pressurised chambers

Our monitoring system is available for integration with all makes and models of pressure chambers. This system simplifies and streamlines the operation of the pressure chamber, and is easy to understand and use to maximise patient safety. The software is developed by GDA and can be installed on a desktop computer.

A tick-off function prevents the chamber operation from being put into operation if all procedures are not followed correctly. The integrated logbook provides space for entering comments and the system offers a number of different treatment tables to choose from.

The following parameters are recorded:

- Depth - Time - Oxygen - Carbon dioxide - Humidity - Temperature

GDA-Sverige AB acts as a reseller for the American mono chamber manufacturer Sechrist on the Nordic market.

We supply the chambers with CE approved fire suppression system.

GDA also provides user training for customers who have not previously used monoplace chambers to treat patients. Medical training on hyperbaric medicine is also available through a collaboration between GDA and Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We also offer manuals, checklists and maintenance training for monoplace chambers that are fully customised to our customers' understanding and previous experience.

We also assist in obtaining the right spare parts and additional equipment such as H.E.R.O (logs treatment data and displays current treatment on screen) and fire suppression systems.
The fire suppression system can be retrofitted to all models and includes a nozzle that is mounted in the door and connected to existing tap water. The system provides a uniform fine water mist for an evacuation time of nine minutes. Please contact us for more information.
